Original Silence - The First Original Silence (2007)

Are you fucking kidding me? Original Silence are: Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Jim O’ Rourke (The Thing), Mats Gustafsson (The Thing), Terrie Ex (The Ex), Paal Nilssen- Love (The Thing) and Massimo Pupillo (Zu). This is an example of musicians that are fully committed to improvisation. They must be on performance-enhancing drugs because they relentlessly grab you by your senses with a sheer energy uncommon in ANY type of music. Sonic chaos. This is the real deal guys.

Cato Salsa Experience and The Thing with Joe McPhee - Two Bands and a Legend (2007)

The second collaboration between garage rock band Cato Salsa Experience, power jazz trio The Thing and legendary free jazz multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee. This equates to some crazy shit going down. These guys manage to outdo Black Fag's chaotic and psychotic version of "Louie Louie". Features covers of P.J. Harvey's "Who the Fuck", The Sonics' "The Witch", Richard Berry's "Louie Louie", Mongezi Feza's "You Ain't Gonna Know Me 'Cos You Think You Know Me", Alva Melin's "The Nut" and James Blood Ulmer's "Baby Talk". This is an aural free-for-all and you better take shelter.
